Five areas in Malaysia recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 4pm on Sunday, with four locations in Sarawak and one in Selangor affected by the ongoing haze.
According to the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS), Serian IPD recorded the highest reading at 174, followed by Sri Aman at 164, Samarahan at 154 and Kuching at 154. All four locations are in Sarawak.
In Peninsular Malaysia, Johan Setia, Selangor, was the only location to register unhealthy air quality, with an API reading of 131 as of 4pm.
Nationwide, 56 areas recorded moderate air quality, while seven locations remained at good levels. No area recorded API readings classified as very unhealthy or hazardous.
Under Malaysia’s API classification, readings between 101 and 200 are considered unhealthy, while 201 to 300 is very unhealthy and readings above 300 are classified as hazardous.
