ASHGABAT: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has begun a two-day official visit to Turkmenistan after concluding his engagements in Kazan, Russia. The visit aims to further strengthen diplomatic relations and expand cooperation between Malaysia and the Central Asian nation.
During the visit, Prime Minister Anwar is scheduled to meet Turkmenistan’s leadership to discuss a range of bilateral issues, including trade, investment, energy, education, and other areas of mutual interest. Both countries are also expected to explore new opportunities for economic collaboration and enhance people-to-people ties.
Malaysia sees Turkmenistan as an important partner in Central Asia, particularly in the energy sector, where both nations have shared interests. The visit also reflects Malaysia’s continued commitment to strengthening international partnerships and promoting economic growth through closer regional cooperation.
The two-day visit is expected to further deepen the longstanding friendship between Malaysia and Turkmenistan while opening new avenues for future cooperation across multiple sectors.
