KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia will continue to host the MotoGP Malaysian Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) until 2031 after the government approved a new five-year extension to the hosting agreement. The new deal will begin in 2027.
The Malaysian Grand Prix has been part of the MotoGP calendar since 1999, except in 2020 and 2021, when the races were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The extension reflects Malaysia’s commitment to motorsports, with the event expected to continue attracting international visitors, boosting tourism, and supporting the local economy. Although hosting costs have increased compared to the previous agreement, the government believes the benefits of staging MotoGP remain significant.
With the new agreement in place, fans can look forward to enjoying world-class MotoGP action at Sepang through the 2031 season.
