At least 25 people have died as a week-long heatwave continues to affect parts of the United States.
According to the report, 40 million people remain under heat alerts across the East Coast, southeast and southwest regions. New Jersey recorded 22 suspected heat-related deaths, while Illinois and Mississippi also reported fatalities.
At the same time, storms along the East Coast are bringing risks of strong winds, hail and flash floods, with flood alerts affecting around 34 million people from Delaware to Connecticut and New York City.
Authorities also warned that dangerous heat could continue in some areas, including parts of California and Arizona, where temperatures may reach up to 114°F or 45.5°C.
