KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has assured that every recommendation and finding contained in the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) will be thoroughly investigated without compromise.
Anwar said the government’s commitment is in line with the decree of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim, who called for a comprehensive investigation into the RCI report. The matter was among several national developments presented by the Prime Minister during an audience with His Majesty at Istana Bukit Tunku.
The Prime Minister stressed that Tabung Haji carries the trust and savings of millions of Malaysians, including farmers, civil servants and those from middle- and lower-income groups who have saved for years to fulfil their pilgrimage. He said anyone found to have abused that trust must be brought to justice according to the law.
The RCI report, published on 29 July 2026, highlighted various findings concerning weaknesses in Tabung Haji’s management and operations between 2014 and 2020. Anwar reiterated that the MADANI Government remains committed to good governance, transparency and accountability, with firm action to be taken regardless of position or rank.
