BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The royal title Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri, previously bestowed on Pengiran Raabi’atul Adawiyyah Pengiran Haji Bolkiah, has been withdrawn with immediate effect following an order by the Sultan of Brunei.
Pengiran Raabi’atul Adawiyyah is the wife of Prince Abdul Malik, a son of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. The decision was announced by Acting Grand Chamberlain Pengiran Haji Raffizanna Pengiran Haji Razali through an official statement reported by Brunei’s RTB News.
According to the report, the title was revoked following alleged conduct deemed inappropriate for a spouse of a member of the Brunei Royal Family. The statement also alleged that her actions had tarnished the royal family’s reputation and demonstrated disrespect towards the Sultan, Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha and other members of the royal household.
However, the official announcement did not disclose specific details about the alleged conduct or incidents that led to the decision. The withdrawal of the royal title took effect immediately upon the Sultan’s order.
