KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) remains committed to improving the organisational structure and career development of Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) personnel as part of efforts to strengthen the country’s defence capabilities.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said the ministry continues to advocate improvements that provide ATM personnel with clearer career pathways and opportunities for professional advancement throughout their service.
The initiative also focuses on ensuring the Armed Forces’ organisational structure remains relevant to current requirements and capable of responding effectively to increasingly complex security and defence challenges.
According to Khaled, strengthening the welfare, career prospects and professional development of military personnel is important because human capital remains a key pillar of Malaysia’s defence preparedness.
MINDEF will continue working to ensure that improvements within the Armed Forces benefit its personnel while strengthening ATM’s overall readiness and ability to safeguard Malaysia’s sovereignty and security.
