KUALA LUMPUR: Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) has made significant progress in its institutional recovery and transformation, with 75% of the recommendations made by the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) already implemented. The government is committed to accelerating the remaining 25%, particularly in governance, investment discipline and risk management.
The progress comes as TH announced a 3.50% profit distribution for the 2025 financial year, its best performance in eight years. The achievement is seen as evidence that stronger financial discipline and investment strategies have contributed to the institution’s recovery.
TH also recorded its highest investment income of RM4.64 billion in 2025, compared with RM4.56 billion the previous year. With total savings reaching approximately RM88 billion, the RCI report projected that the fund could potentially grow to RM100 billion within the next two years.
Public confidence in the institution also remains strong, with 9.7 million depositors continuing to place their trust in TH. The institution paid RM95.3 million in zakat for 2025, while more than 726,000 recipients nationwide benefited through its Zakat Wakalah programme.
Moving forward, TH is expected to maintain its existing business model while continuing improvements in governance and investment policies under the Tabung Haji Act 1995, strengthening its role as a trusted institution managing Muslim savings and pilgrimage affairs.
