Johor sprinter Danish Iftikhar Muhammad Roslee delivered one of the standout performances on the fourth day of SUKMA Selangor 2026, completing a hat-trick of gold medals while setting a new Games record in the men’s 200 metres.
Competing at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Stadium, Danish clocked 20.85 seconds to claim the 200m title, breaking the previous SUKMA record of 21.01 seconds set by Selangor’s Muhammad Aqil Yasmin at the 2018 Games in Perak.
The victory completed an impressive three-gold haul for Danish after he had earlier triumphed in the men’s 100m and 4x100m relay.
There were more record-breaking performances in athletics, with Perlis athlete Farhana Izurein Faizal Amizul defending her women’s shot put title with a new Games record of 14.22 metres. Meanwhile, Izzatul Musfirah Ahmad Kamal Azira won the women’s 200m in 24.42 seconds.
Sarawak’s Yoyo Wong Zhi Yao, 18, also enjoyed a memorable SUKMA debut by securing gold in the women’s hammer throw with a distance of 48.14 metres.
After four days of competition, Selangor led the medal standings with 23 gold, 24 silver and 15 bronze medals, followed by Johor with 17 gold and Terengganu with 15.
