KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia League clubs have welcomed the completion of merit-based revenue distribution payments for the 2025/26 season, saying the funds will help improve cash flow and strengthen operational planning for the ongoing 2026/27 campaign.
Each Super League club received an equal distribution of RM500,000. Additional merit-based payments were determined by league position, with the champions receiving RM1.9 million, runners-up RM1.4 million, and the third-placed team RM1 million.
Teams finishing between fourth and 13th place received between RM700,000 and RM100,000 in merit-based payments. The distribution model is also seen as an incentive for clubs to improve their performance and league position.
Officials from Negeri Sembilan FC, Terengganu FC and Sabah FC welcomed the payments, highlighting their importance in meeting financial commitments, managing operating expenses and allowing teams to focus on development and preparations for competition.
