Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on heads of government departments and agencies to personally go to the ground, understand problems faced at project sites and act quickly to resolve issues delaying national development projects.
Anwar said the matter was raised during the National Development Action Council Meeting No. 1/2026, which also discussed troubled projects, delays against schedule and slow spending of approved development allocations.
He stressed that the Federal Government has provided substantial development funding to ministries and agencies nationwide, making it the responsibility of department and agency heads to ensure projects are implemented smoothly and effectively.
Anwar also warned that approving an allocation alone is not enough if implementation on the ground remains stalled. He said every ringgit spent must ultimately deliver real benefits to the people and the country.
