The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has begun its investigation into matters raised in the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on Lembaga Tabung Haji, with a team of officers arriving at the organisation’s headquarters on Thursday morning.
The investigation follows the government’s decision to release the RCI findings, which highlighted several governance and management issues involving Tabung Haji. MACC’s presence at the headquarters is part of its effort to gather documents, review records, and obtain information relevant to the investigation.
Authorities have yet to disclose the specific offences being investigated or identify any individuals involved. The commission stressed that the probe is still at an early stage and will be conducted professionally and in accordance with the law.
The government has previously stated that appropriate action will be taken against any party found to have committed wrongdoing based on the RCI’s findings. Meanwhile, MACC urged the public to allow the investigation to proceed without speculation while ensuring that due process is upheld.
