Thailand has handed over 650,000 baht, around RM80,000, in compensation to one of the Malaysian victims injured in the Tak Bai bomb blast.
The compensation was presented to Muhammad Yusri Udin at the Sungai Golok Customs Office after the 29 June incident, which also injured another Malaysian, Abdullah Syarapi Abd Rahman. Thai authorities said the two Malaysians were not the intended targets of the attack.
Narathiwat Governor Boonchuay Homyamyen expressed regret over the incident and said Thailand will continue strengthening security efforts to protect both locals and tourists.
