The government has decided that there is no need to raise the retirement age for civil servants at this time.
Government spokesperson and Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said the decision was made during the Cabinet meeting, confirming that the retirement age for civil servants will remain at 60.
Fahmi said the government had reviewed the matter and agreed that no increase is required for now.
In a separate development, he said the Cabinet also discussed feedback on the 0.75 percent salary contribution for the LINDUNG 24 Jam scheme under PERKESO.
Following the discussion, the Cabinet decided that the contribution will no longer be mandatory and will instead be made voluntary with immediate effect. Further details are expected to be announced by the Human Resources Ministry.
