Dengue cases in Malaysia have continued to rise, with 42,848 cases recorded nationwide as of last Wednesday.
According to the Health Ministry, this is an increase of 34.8 percent compared to 31,790 cases reported during the same period last year. Dengue-related deaths also increased to 34 cases, compared to 19 deaths recorded in the same period in 2025.
The ministry said most dengue cases were concentrated in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, which together made up 63.5 percent of total cases nationwide. Selangor recorded 19,313 cases, while Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya recorded 7,909 cases.
Several other states also recorded increases, including Johor, Sabah, Negeri Sembilan, Perak, Sarawak, Perlis, Terengganu and Labuan.
KKM urged the public to help prevent the spread of dengue by removing Aedes mosquito breeding sites, keeping their surroundings clean and seeking early medical treatment if dengue symptoms appear. The ministry said it will continue monitoring the situation and strengthening prevention efforts to reduce cases, complications and deaths.
