KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) is holding weekly meetings to closely monitor preparations for the return of the Formula One (F1) Malaysian Grand Prix, ensuring all key aspects are properly coordinated ahead of the event.
Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh said the regular meetings allow the ministry and relevant stakeholders to review progress and address important operational matters as preparations move forward.
The discussions cover various areas required to successfully organise an international motorsport event, with coordination between the government, organisers and other parties playing an important role in ensuring Malaysia is fully prepared.
The return of F1 is expected to once again place Malaysia and the Sepang International Circuit in the global motorsport spotlight, while potentially generating wider benefits for tourism, the economy and the country’s sporting industry.
KBS will continue monitoring preparations closely to ensure the event can be organised smoothly and meet the standards expected of a world-class Formula One race.
