KUALA TERENGGANU: Malaysian Cub Prix rider Farres Putra Mohd Fadhil, 18, died from multiple injuries sustained in a motorcycle racing accident at the Gong Badak Motorsports Circuit on Saturday afternoon.
Kuala Terengganu district police chief ACP Azli Mohd Noor said a post-mortem examination was conducted at the Forensic Department of Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ), confirming the cause of death.
Farres, who raced for CKJ Racing, was involved in an accident during the CP150 final of Round 5 of the Malaysian Cub Prix Championship. Police said the incident involved three motorcycles that came into contact with one another during the race. Farres was taken by ambulance to HSNZ, where he was pronounced dead by a medical officer.
His close friend and fellow racer Adi Putra Anahar, 17, described Farres as a kind person who was always willing to share with others. The two had been close friends since they were 13 and shared a strong bond through their involvement in motorsports.
