The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has announced the appointment of former Canadian player Rob Douglas Friend as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Team, making him the key figure in the new organizational structure aimed at revolutionizing the Harimau Malaya squad.
Rob Friend made 32 international appearances from 2003, at the age of 22, until 2011, when he was 30.
In 2014, he began his journey as a managing partner at DRG Investment Group, a real estate investment and management company, a role he holds to this day.
From 2017 to 2021, he founded Toca Football Canada, a specialized soccer training technology company, achieving significant success with the company’s capital growth reaching USD 150 million.
Since 2019, Rob Friend has also served as a managing partner at SixFive Sports Fund, an investment body focused on professional football and infrastructure, involving club ownership, stadiums, and training facility development.
