Former Malaysian national diver Kimberly Bong Qian Ping has revealed that she embraced Islam in July 2026, describing the decision as one of the most meaningful moments of her life. She shared the news through social media, expressing gratitude and pride over the new chapter in her journey.
Kimberly retired from competitive diving in 2024 after spending nearly 15 years in the sport. Known for competing in the 3m springboard and 10m platform, she first gained attention internationally when she participated in the FINA Diving Grand Prix in Australia at the age of 14 in 2016.
During her career, Kimberly represented Malaysia at several international competitions. Among her achievements were gold medals at the 2023 SEA Games and Malaysia Open, as well as silver and bronze medals from the 2021 and 2017 SEA Games respectively.
Kimberly is also reportedly preparing for another major milestone in her personal life, as she is expected to marry Danial Asri, a former Malaysia Under-23 striker who currently plays for DPMM.
