Malaysian Muay Thai fighter Johan “Jojo” Ghazali is determined to continue the country’s momentum in ONE Championship after Ahmad Nor Iman Aliff Rakib made history at The Inner Circle 23.
Aliff became the ONE Interim Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion after defeating Thai legend Sam-A Gaiyanghadao, a victory Jojo described as proof that Malaysian athletes can compete at the highest level.
Jojo will next face Lebanese fighter Ramadan Ondash at The Inner Circle 24, scheduled to take place at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok on July 31. He congratulated Aliff and said he intends to once again demonstrate Malaysia’s strength in Muay Thai.
The upcoming bout has also attracted attention because Jojo and Ramadan are friends outside the ring. However, Ramadan made it clear that their friendship would not stop either fighter from giving their best during the contest.
Jojo said such situations are normal in combat sports, where athletes must put personal relationships aside and remain fully focused once they enter the ring.
