PETALING JAYA — All applications linked to the Network School operating in Forest City, Johor, were submitted through the proper procedures and verified by the relevant authorities, Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo said.
Gobind explained that business licensing and the operation of the premises fall under the jurisdiction of the Johor state government. Matters involving foreign workers, visas and immigration are handled by the Home Ministry.
He said the Digital Ministry had reviewed issues within its authority and found that the applications were in order. Further checks by the Immigration Department also reached the same conclusion.
However, Gobind stressed that any complaint should still be investigated. Appropriate legal action must be taken should an investigation uncover breaches of the law, licensing conditions or regulations.
Earlier, Johor Regent Tunku Mahkota Ismail said licences or operating permits connected to the Network School could be revoked if violations were found. The Johor government and local authorities are expected to conduct a detailed investigation into the matter.
