KUALA LUMPUR — Actress Zizie Izette Abdul Samad has been acquitted and discharged of all charges of abetting her husband, former Kinabatangan MP Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, in connection with a RM2.8 million corruption case.
The decision was delivered by the High Court after allowing appeals filed by both Zizie Izette and Bung Moktar against their previous convictions.
The case stemmed from allegations that Bung Moktar accepted bribes related to investments made by the Public Mutual Berhad unit trust funds. Zizie Izette had been charged with abetting her husband in the alleged offences.
With the High Court’s ruling, both Bung Moktar and Zizie Izette have been cleared of all charges, bringing the long-running legal case to a close.
