SERDANG: The value of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed in conjunction with MAHA 2026 has reached RM9.3 billion, surpassing the initial target of RM8 billion, Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu said.
The strong investment performance comes alongside high public turnout. By the seventh day, 2.77 million visitors had attended MAHA, with more than 555,000 vehicles recorded and sales reaching RM16.3 million.
China remains a major agricultural trading partner, with MoUs worth RM3.27 billion involving renewed cooperation and increased imports of Malaysian agro-food products. Among the major agreements is a RM1.5 billion collaboration involving NAFAS, Guizhou Phosphate Chemical Group and Jiangsu Chemical Design Institute.
Mohamad said the agreements are expected to lead to concrete business deals and help expand agricultural exports, including pineapples and the use of advanced technology. He also highlighted growing youth participation in agriculture through technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT).
