PUCHONG – Malaysian singer Shila Amzah has revealed plans to relocate to China with her family by the end of next year as her career continues to expand in the country.
Shila said the move is driven by a long-term contract she is expected to sign soon. Although she did not disclose details of the project, she confirmed that the agreement would require a longer stay in China, making frequent travel between Malaysia and China impractical.
The award-winning singer explained that constant travel has been challenging, as work commitments often keep her away from her children for several days at a time. By moving to China, she hopes her husband and children can stay together with her while she continues to pursue opportunities there.
Shila, who rose to fame in China after winning the Asian Wave singing competition in 2012, also dismissed claims that the decision reflects dissatisfaction with Malaysia’s entertainment industry. Instead, she stressed that the move is purely a career decision and that she intends to continue balancing her commitments in both Malaysia and China.
