SEPANG: The body of an unidentified man was discovered in a decomposed state inside the right-side landing gear compartment of an aircraft parked at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 2 on Thursday morning.
KLIA District Police Chief ACP M. Ravi said police were alerted by the Airport Operations Control Centre at around 7am. The body was found lying face down inside the compartment, with no identification documents found on the victim. He was estimated to be between 17 and 25 years old based on his physical build.
The man was wearing a white hoodie with a dragon design on the back and the word “Oakley” on the front, along with light blue jeans, a brown leather belt, socks and black sports shoes. Initial checks found no visible injuries on his body.
The aircraft had arrived from Tokyo, Japan, at about 6.30am, and engineering staff discovered the body at around 6.55am while opening the wheel compartment. Preliminary examination suggested the man may have been dead for more than 72 hours.
The body was sent to the Forensic Department at Hospital Serdang for a post-mortem examination, while police are investigating the case under sudden death procedures (SDR).
